Chakra Sunday! – The Crown Chakra

I’m here on a Sunday! Yay! And ready to give you the final instalment of our Chakra series with the seventh chakra, located on the top of the head, the Crown. This Chakra connects us to our spirituality and belief system, it is directly connected to Source, and physically supports our central nervous system and brain functions.

When this vital Chakra is out of sync and off balance, we can experience depression and confusion about our place in life and it can trigger feelings of loneliness and detachment.

While there are Chakras above and below our physical bodies, the Crown Chakra is typically considered the highest, and vibrates with the colour purple, which vibrates directly beneath white light and pure energy. It is possibly one of the more difficult Chakras to balance and is one that requires work and effort in order to open, maintain, and nourish it. The Crown Chakra is associated most heavily with spiritual enlightenment, and therefore its ability to be balanced also relates quite strongly to the balance of the other six Chakras. Imbalance between the Chakras when the Crown is open can cause all manner of upset and can prove to be more troublesome, so work on this Chakra inline with the others, and concentrate on an energetic balance between them all.

To work with this Chakra and help bring it in to balance, sit comfortably and allow your breathing to fall into a steady rhythm. With each exhalation, imagine a beautiful violet lotus flower opening and unfurling on top of your head. As the lotus opens, imagine a beam of pure white light pouring into it from above and filling your whole body via each of the other Chakras in turn. Say out loud, or to yourself;

“I am connected to spirit. I am connected to source. I recognise the divine in all living things.”

Repeat as often as you feel necessary.

Surrounding yourself with the colour purple is a great way to help heal this Chakra, as is eating purple grapes, purple potatoes and carrots, aubergines etc, but remember that the Crown is connected to spirit and is more nourished by prayer and meditation than food itself. Drinking plenty of fresh water and making sure your diet is full of fresh fruits and vegetables will help all your Chakras, however.

Amethyst is the perfect crystal to hold and wear to connect with this Chakra, as well as Selenite and Quartz, which all vibrate at extremely high frequencies.

Remember to keep all your Chakras in check when you’re working with your Crown, allow it to connect to all six and make sure you practice good grounding techniques if your are working on opening it.

This whole series has been so much fun, there is so much you can learn about yourself by paying attention to your Chakra energies. So much of our emotional and physical wellbeing is influenced by these vital energy-organs and you can notice massive improvements in many areas of your life when you start to balance them.

Enjoy, you beautiful folks, you…but I have much more to share so don’t go too far away 😉 xxx

Chakra Sunday – Third Eye Chakra

So, I’m aware that it is not Sunday, nor is it even Monday, but it’s time I posted the latest piece in our journey through the Chakras…I mean come on, you’ve all waited long enough.

So today is the turn of the Third Eye Chakra, which sits between the eyebrows connects us to our Inner Guidance and Intuition. It is closely connected to the higher Crown Chakra and is the link between our connection to Source and the Universe, and our Soul voice. Through a balanced and open Third Eye Chakra, we trust our intuition, we see our path clearly, and we have faith in our inner guidance. When this Chakra is out of balance it creates distrust, an inability to judge situations well, distraction and lack of focus, and often manifests its physical symptoms as headaches and problems with our eyes, insomnia, sinus trouble, and sometimes dizziness.

Sit comfortably for a few minutes when you know you wont be distracted. Take the time to let your breathing fall into a gentle rhythm, and begin to imagine the breath being drawn into, and out of, the Third Eye. With each inhalation, feel the cool breath begin to open the space where the Third Eye Chakra resides, and visualise a beautiful blue indigo colour spreading out before you. It’s common, when working with the Third Eye, to experience tingling sensations across the forehead. If you do feel anything out of the ordinary, simply acknowledge the sensation and let it pass.

At this stage, repeat the following affirmations either out loud or to yourself, for as long as you feel necessary;

“I see clearly. I think clearly. I trust my intuition. I know the answers I seek. I am wise and connected to my inner guidance.”

Surrounding yourself with a vibrant indigo blue is a great way to help heal this Chakra. Crystals such as Lapis Lazuli, Sapphire, Sodalite, and Azurite are also great companions for a little Third Eye love, and eating foods rich in deep blue hues, such as blackberries, blueberries, figs, grapes, and raisins, are perfect.

This Chakra can be a tricky one to keep open and balanced, especially if you are still struggling with your lower chakras, and haven’t yet mastered you self love and self worth. It’s easy to let your ability to trust your own inner voice slip by the wayside, but stick with it and with this one, more so actually than the others, the more you actively use it and trust it (your intuition), the easier it gets.

That’s all for today, folks…

Love and light xxx
