Chakra Sunday – Third Eye Chakra

So, I’m aware that it is not Sunday, nor is it even Monday, but it’s time I posted the latest piece in our journey through the Chakras…I mean come on, you’ve all waited long enough.

So today is the turn of the Third Eye Chakra, which sits between the eyebrows connects us to our Inner Guidance and Intuition. It is closely connected to the higher Crown Chakra and is the link between our connection to Source and the Universe, and our Soul voice. Through a balanced and open Third Eye Chakra, we trust our intuition, we see our path clearly, and we have faith in our inner guidance. When this Chakra is out of balance it creates distrust, an inability to judge situations well, distraction and lack of focus, and often manifests its physical symptoms as headaches and problems with our eyes, insomnia, sinus trouble, and sometimes dizziness.

Sit comfortably for a few minutes when you know you wont be distracted. Take the time to let your breathing fall into a gentle rhythm, and begin to imagine the breath being drawn into, and out of, the Third Eye. With each inhalation, feel the cool breath begin to open the space where the Third Eye Chakra resides, and visualise a beautiful blue indigo colour spreading out before you. It’s common, when working with the Third Eye, to experience tingling sensations across the forehead. If you do feel anything out of the ordinary, simply acknowledge the sensation and let it pass.

At this stage, repeat the following affirmations either out loud or to yourself, for as long as you feel necessary;

“I see clearly. I think clearly. I trust my intuition. I know the answers I seek. I am wise and connected to my inner guidance.”

Surrounding yourself with a vibrant indigo blue is a great way to help heal this Chakra. Crystals such as Lapis Lazuli, Sapphire, Sodalite, and Azurite are also great companions for a little Third Eye love, and eating foods rich in deep blue hues, such as blackberries, blueberries, figs, grapes, and raisins, are perfect.

This Chakra can be a tricky one to keep open and balanced, especially if you are still struggling with your lower chakras, and haven’t yet mastered you self love and self worth. It’s easy to let your ability to trust your own inner voice slip by the wayside, but stick with it and with this one, more so actually than the others, the more you actively use it and trust it (your intuition), the easier it gets.

Let’s talk about vibration!

I have touched upon this subject before, and truth be told, there is so much to this topic that it’s hard to stay on it without going off on tangents about all sorts of things, since, of course, everything is connected…But hopefully this goes into a little more detail so you can start to grasp just how important this subject is to your overall mental health and well being (as well as your physical health, but again, that’s a subject in itself).

I often find myself telling people that all they need to do is raise their vibration…it really does account for a multitude of sins and if we could all just vibrate a little higher, the world would be a much happier place! But most people are entirely confused by my statement. Most people have no idea that an awful lot of how they are thinking and feeling is directly associated to their vibrational frequency and that they are most likely trapped in an ever-increasing downward spiral, allowing their vibration to get lower and lower and lower…

So, what the heck and I talking about?

Well, we are all vibrational beings. This is an indisputable fact. You are made of atoms and molecules, at the very core of your being, that is what you are. The exact same atoms and molecules that make up the rest of the Universe…the seas, the skies, the mountains, and even the stars. All atoms and molecules, energetically charged and vibrating at their own frequency. As a being, you literally vibrate. As a result of this vibration, you emit a field of energy around your being that cannot be seen, by can be felt, or sensed, in the exactly the same way that sound waves cannot be seen, they are heard.

Have you ever met someone for the first time and instantly felt uncomfortable, without any explanation? That would be you sensing their energetic field and it not sitting well with your own. In other words, the vibration they are emitting clashes with yours. Now that’s not to say that their vibration will always clash with yours, they may just be having a bad day, and that brings me to my next point.

Everything about you effects your vibration, and therefore your energetic field. Your mood, your health, your thoughts and feelings, the food you have consumed, the colours you have chosen to wear, the events that have influenced your day or week, or longer, and even the people you have in your life and inner circle will all have an effect on the frequency with which you are vibrating. A healthy, happy, human being vibrates at around 62-78MHz, an unhealthy/unhappy person vibrates at less than 59MHz.

And here is where it gets interesting…everything in the Universe has its own vibration. Everything. Even actions and events carry the vibrational signature of their impact on the things and people they interact with. The Universe is made of energy. Nothing more. Nothing less. And it is all vibrating.

Higher frequencies are associated with more positive states of mind, with love being the highest frequency. You know that feeling you get when you are falling in love? That euphoria? That sense of all being right in the world, everything is more beautiful, more engaging, more pleasurable? That’s a higher vibrational state. Lower vibrational states are associated with negative emotions like hate and envy, fear and jealousy, anger and sadness.

We are all programmed to vibrate at the frequency associated with love, but life gets in the way and we are often bombarded with frequency-lowering agendas all day long. So many things lower our vibration, such as illness, trauma, tragedy, but also negative attitudes, feeling unworthy, feeling lack of abundance, and so on and so on. In the same way, the opposites raise our vibration; happy events, celebrations, positive attitudes, love, luck, good friendship, wellness, a sense of achievement, and in particular, gratitude.

The ever-increasing downward spiral I mentioned earlier is commonplace today, and if left untreated, it can lead to ultra-low vibrational states that create depression and anxiety.

The problem is, The Law of Attraction states that like attracts like, therefore, when we find operating from a lower vibration, we inadvertently attract the things associated with this lower frequency; so people often associate it with a feeling like the world is against them, or they are having a run of bad luck, or that nothing ever goes their way. This feeling attracts more low vibrational states and events, even people that are wrong for us, and situations that make us uncomfortable, and thus we are knocked down lower and lower on the vibrational scale….Hence…The downward spiral.

The good news is, the exact same is true for the opposite, and as we raise our vibration, our circumstances and feelings regarding situations improve, which again raises our vibration even more, and so on and so forth. The difficulty is that raising your vibration is something that has to be a constant consideration, and when the world bombards us with things to lower our vibration (like adverts making us feel our lives lack, or pictures making us hate our appearance etc), it is a constant battle to remind ourselves to change the way we think about the world in order to keep our vibration climbing.

We can influence our vibration and help by looking after ourselves and allowing ourselves to be happy regardless of the opinions of others. This is no doubt one of the most challenging but most effective way to fly kick your vibration up several notches.

We can look after ourselves by eating clean, unprocessed, chemical and additive free foods, we can burn incenses like sage and sandalwood, we can meditate and take time to do the things we love, like spending time with loved ones, and relaxing with our favourite book, or keeping up with a hobby.

Crystals work by tweaking certain vibrations within the body, always raising them in order to heal, and helping us let go of those negatively associated emotions and energies.

The aim is to find as much in our lives to be happy and positive about right now and then sit in that feeling of happiness for as long as we can, constantly building on it and being outwardly grateful for it until we reach the realisation that happiness comes from within and our vibration will consistently climb with this kind of mindset, inviting positivity, opportunity, and abundance…Which starts the cycle in a very upwards and highly motivational manner.

The key here is realising that we have the control.

We create our reality.

We control our own vibration.

We can choose to raise or lower our vibration….It’s all about your state of mind.

Free Oracle Reading!

Tonight I felt compelled to do a little Crystal Alter-like Ceremony…I have no idea why. It turns out it was exactly what I needed; sitting gridding Quartz Points, sipping mint matcha tea, cleansing my crystals and making new elixirs while the Nag Champa burned was so soothing. I genuinely feel like my soul had a refresh.

While I sat an took in the grid, it occurred to me that the moment was perfect for a little Oracle Card Reading, and I’m sure there are some folks out there that feel they need a little divine guidance right now? Yes?

So, intuition lead the way and I shuffled and drew the following three cards…If you’ve never done this before it’s quite simple. Clear your mind as much as you can, or focus on a specific question you would like answered. Take a deep, cleansing breath, and as you exhale allow your attention to be drawn to one of the cards. What frightens you may be something much smaller than you believe it to be.

You are finding yourself currently in front of a wall that you cannot see beyond, but are you failing to notice that you have created the wall yourself, and you have the power to knock it down?

If you are holding onto something painful, or are fearful of moving forward, tightening your grip and staying in one place will only make the situation worse. It’s time to release whatever is holding you back to the Universe and trust that there is greatness ahead of you.

Why don’t you trust your ability to move forward? Why are you rejecting or not accepting your gifts?

This is all part of your journey, you are not at the end of it yet. Don’t stay still and hide behind the wall you have built.

Affirmation – “I am willing to allow myself to shine.”

 

Card B – Recovery

To use your pain in order to move past it is a scary thing.

You seem to be holding onto the things that hurt you, believing they are yours to keep and carry. It’s time to gather up all those painful things and turn them into the key that will unlock your future.

Facing your fears and recognising that wounds make you stronger is part of the journey, but you no longer need to sit with those wounds and lock yourself away with those fears.

Courage in the face of pain awakens greatness, and you are ready to live an inspired life. It is time to recover and move on with a greater understanding of ourselves and a genuine gentleness in our heart.

Where you are heading, there is no need for keys, there are no more locked doors.

Affirmation – “I am ready to let go of the pain of my past.”

 

Card C – Vanity

We all say we will stop when we have enough, but is there ever enough?

Are you looking outside of yourself for validation? Are you seeking ‘more’ and not appreciating what you already have? More does not mean better, and more will not always be enough.

Are you disconnecting yourself from people in your life? Do you need to pull away from those that do not bring light into your life now? Be honest with yourself about some empty connections you may be using as your benchmark and come back to yourself.

Live in your true greatness and power, but do not stray too far away from the present moment and do not forget to be grateful for what you have now.

Refocusing on our heart energy reminds us of truly matters, the people that love us and the ones that are here for us in the now.

Affirmation – “I am grateful for everything I already have in my life, and everything that is yet to come.”

Chakra Sunday – Throat Chakra

Happy Sunday, folks!

It’s Chakra Sunday time! We have been gradually making our way through all the chakras, what they affect, and how we can help to bring them into balance. Today is the turn on the fifth chakra, and the one responsible for our communication.

The Throat Chakra connects our higher chakras to our centre and the heart, by way of our communication with others, with ourselves, and with the Universe. When this Chakra is out of balance, we may find it difficult to express ourselves, or feel trapped by an inability to speak our own truths. Physically, we can experience problems with the Thyroid Gland, sore throats and sinus infections, or neck and shoulder pain.

Some verbal affirmations can really help to heal the Throat Chakra. Saying out loud,

“I am honest and clear in all my communications. I am able to speak my truth with grace and kindest. My thoughts and opinions are worthy. I express myself with love and I know when to listen.”

With the Throat Chakra, it will be really beneficial if you can say these affirmations out loud, but if you are uncomfortable, or unable to, communicating them clearly to yourself while in meditation will be effective.

Sitting comfortably, take a few deep, cleansing breaths and once you find your rhythm, visualise a bright blue flower sitting upon your throat and opening up little by little with each inhalation. Focus on the colour of the flower and its beautiful blue petals. Take a few moments to pay attention to the area around your throat and any sensations you experience. Don’t worry or let negative thoughts about those sensations distract you, the throat is a sensitive area and sometimes, even in meditation, any sensation of restriction can be alarming. Just let the sensation be, remain calm and bring your attention back to the flower and its petals. Say the above affirmation for as long as you feel necessary.

The Throat Chakra vibrates with a brilliant blue colour, so wearing blues and surrounding yourself with this calming colour will really help. Eating blueberries, currants, blue grapes, blackberries, and dragon fruit will also help.

If you love your crystals as much as I do, Blue Lace Agate is perfect for the Throat Chakra, as is Sodalite, Lapis Lazuli, Aquamarine, and Turquoise. Wearing them as a necklace is the best way to bring them into effect on the body.

Spending some time mindfully looking up at the sky is also a great way to activate this chakra.
