Chakra Sunday! – The Crown Chakra

I’m here on a Sunday! Yay! And ready to give you the final instalment of our Chakra series with the seventh chakra, located on the top of the head, the Crown. This Chakra connects us to our spirituality and belief system, it is directly connected to Source, and physically supports our central nervous system and brain functions.

When this vital Chakra is out of sync and off balance, we can experience depression and confusion about our place in life and it can trigger feelings of loneliness and detachment.

While there are Chakras above and below our physical bodies, the Crown Chakra is typically considered the highest, and vibrates with the colour purple, which vibrates directly beneath white light and pure energy. It is possibly one of the more difficult Chakras to balance and is one that requires work and effort in order to open, maintain, and nourish it. The Crown Chakra is associated most heavily with spiritual enlightenment, and therefore its ability to be balanced also relates quite strongly to the balance of the other six Chakras. Imbalance between the Chakras when the Crown is open can cause all manner of upset and can prove to be more troublesome, so work on this Chakra inline with the others, and concentrate on an energetic balance between them all.

To work with this Chakra and help bring it in to balance, sit comfortably and allow your breathing to fall into a steady rhythm. With each exhalation, imagine a beautiful violet lotus flower opening and unfurling on top of your head. As the lotus opens, imagine a beam of pure white light pouring into it from above and filling your whole body via each of the other Chakras in turn. Say out loud, or to yourself;

“I am connected to spirit. I am connected to source. I recognise the divine in all living things.”

Repeat as often as you feel necessary.

Surrounding yourself with the colour purple is a great way to help heal this Chakra, as is eating purple grapes, purple potatoes and carrots, aubergines etc, but remember that the Crown is connected to spirit and is more nourished by prayer and meditation than food itself. Drinking plenty of fresh water and making sure your diet is full of fresh fruits and vegetables will help all your Chakras, however.

Amethyst is the perfect crystal to hold and wear to connect with this Chakra, as well as Selenite and Quartz, which all vibrate at extremely high frequencies.

Remember to keep all your Chakras in check when you’re working with your Crown, allow it to connect to all six and make sure you practice good grounding techniques if your are working on opening it.

This whole series has been so much fun, there is so much you can learn about yourself by paying attention to your Chakra energies. So much of our emotional and physical wellbeing is influenced by these vital energy-organs and you can notice massive improvements in many areas of your life when you start to balance them.

Enjoy, you beautiful folks, you…but I have much more to¬†share so don’t go too far away ūüėČ xxx

Chakra Sunday – Third Eye Chakra

So, I’m aware that it is not Sunday, nor is it even Monday, but it’s time I posted the latest piece in our journey through the Chakras…I mean come on, you’ve all waited long enough.

So today is the turn of the Third Eye Chakra, which sits between the eyebrows connects us to our Inner Guidance and Intuition. It is closely connected to the higher Crown Chakra and is the link between our connection to Source and the Universe, and our Soul voice. Through a balanced and open Third Eye Chakra, we trust our intuition, we see our path clearly, and we have faith in our inner guidance. When this Chakra is out of balance it creates distrust, an inability to judge situations well, distraction and lack of focus, and often manifests its physical symptoms as headaches and problems with our eyes, insomnia, sinus trouble, and sometimes dizziness.

Sit comfortably for a few minutes when you know you wont be distracted. Take the time to let your breathing fall into a gentle rhythm, and begin to imagine the breath being drawn into, and out of, the Third Eye. With each inhalation, feel the cool breath begin to open the space where the Third Eye Chakra resides, and visualise a beautiful blue indigo colour spreading out before you. It’s common, when working with the Third Eye, to experience tingling sensations across the forehead. If you do feel anything out of the ordinary, simply acknowledge the sensation and let it pass.

At this stage, repeat the following affirmations either out loud or to yourself, for as long as you feel necessary;

“I see clearly. I think clearly. I trust my intuition. I know the answers I seek. I am wise and connected to my inner guidance.”

Surrounding yourself with a vibrant indigo blue is a great way to help heal this Chakra. Crystals such as Lapis Lazuli, Sapphire, Sodalite, and Azurite are also great companions for a little Third Eye love, and eating foods rich in deep blue hues, such as blackberries, blueberries, figs, grapes, and raisins, are perfect.

This Chakra can be a tricky one to keep open and balanced, especially if you are still struggling with your lower chakras, and haven’t yet mastered you self love and self worth. It’s easy to let your ability to trust your own inner voice slip by the wayside, but stick with it and with this one, more so actually than the others, the more you actively use it and trust it (your intuition), the easier it gets.

That’s all for today, folks…

Free Oracle Reading!

Tonight I felt compelled to do a little Crystal Alter-like Ceremony…I have no idea why. It turns out it was exactly what I needed; sitting gridding Quartz Points, sipping mint matcha tea, cleansing my crystals and making new elixirs while the Nag Champa burned was so soothing. I genuinely feel like my soul had a refresh.

While I sat an took in the grid, it occurred to me that the moment was perfect for a little Oracle Card Reading, and I’m sure there are some folks out there that feel they need a little divine guidance right now? Yes?

So, intuition lead the way and I shuffled and drew the following three cards…If you’ve never done this before it’s quite simple. Clear your mind as much as you can, or focus on a specific question you would like answered. Take a deep, cleansing breath, and as you exhale allow your attention to be drawn to one of the cards. Scroll down to the meaning of your card to find out what guidance the Universe is offering you right now…

Card A – Faith

wp-1487543343883

What frightens you may be something much smaller than you believe it to be.

You are finding yourself currently in front of a wall that you cannot see beyond, but are you failing to notice that you have created the wall yourself, and you have the power to knock it down?

If you are holding onto something painful, or are fearful of moving forward, tightening your grip and staying in one place will only make the situation worse. It’s time to release whatever is holding you back to the Universe and trust that there is greatness ahead of you.

Why don’t you trust your ability to move forward? Why are you rejecting or not accepting your gifts?

This is all part of your journey, you are not at the end of it yet. Don’t stay still and hide behind the wall you have built.

Affirmation – “I am willing to allow myself to shine.”

Card B – Recovery

wp-1487543347327

To use your pain in order to move past it is a scary thing.

You seem to be holding onto the things that hurt you, believing they are yours to keep and carry. It’s time to gather up all those painful things and turn them into the key that will unlock your future.

Facing your fears and recognising that wounds make you stronger is part of the journey, but you no longer need to sit with those wounds and lock yourself away with those fears.

Courage in the face of pain awakens greatness, and you are ready to live an inspired life. It is time to recover and move on with a greater understanding of ourselves and a genuine gentleness in our heart.

Where you are heading, there is no need for keys, there are no more locked doors.

Affirmation – “I am ready to let go of the pain of my past.”

Card C – Vanity

wp-1487543350349

We all say we will stop when we have enough, but is there ever enough?

Are you looking outside of yourself for validation? Are you seeking ‘more’ and not appreciating what you already have? More does not mean better, and more will not always be enough.

Are you disconnecting yourself from people in your life? Do you need to pull away from those that do not bring light into your life now? Be honest with yourself about some empty connections you may be using as your benchmark and come back to yourself.

Live in your true greatness and power, but do not stray too far away from the present moment and do not forget to be grateful for what you have now.

Refocusing on our heart energy reminds us of truly matters, the people that love us and the ones that are here for us in the now.

Affirmation – “I am grateful for everything I already have in my life, and everything that is yet to come.”

I hope these messages have given you some comfort, or some guidance. I’d love to hear whether or not these resonate with you and why (if you’d like to share), feel free to drop a comment below…

Chakra Sunday – Throat Chakra

Happy Sunday, folks!

It’s Chakra Sunday time! We have been gradually making our way through all the chakras, what they affect, and how we can help to bring them into balance. Today is the turn on the fifth chakra, and the one responsible for our communication.

The Throat Chakra connects our higher chakras to our centre and the heart, by way of our communication with others, with ourselves, and with the Universe. When this Chakra is out of balance, we may find it difficult to express ourselves, or feel trapped by an inability to speak our own truths. Physically, we can experience problems with the Thyroid Gland, sore throats and sinus infections, or neck and shoulder pain.

Some verbal affirmations can really help to heal the Throat Chakra. Saying out loud,

“I¬†am honest and clear in all my communications.¬†I am able to speak my truth with grace and¬†kindest. My thoughts and opinions are worthy. I express myself with love and I know when to listen.”

With the Throat Chakra, it will be really beneficial if you can say these affirmations out loud, but if you are uncomfortable, or unable to, communicating them clearly to yourself while in meditation will be effective.

Sitting comfortably, take a few deep, cleansing breaths and once you find your rhythm, visualise a bright blue flower sitting upon your throat and opening¬†up little by little with each inhalation.¬†Focus on the colour of the flower and its beautiful blue petals. Take a few moments to pay attention to¬†the area around your throat and any sensations you experience. Don’t worry or let negative thoughts about those sensations distract you, the throat is a sensitive area and sometimes, even in meditation, any sensation of restriction can be alarming. Just let the sensation be, remain calm and¬†bring your attention back to the flower and its petals. Say¬†the above affirmation for as long as you feel necessary.

The Throat Chakra vibrates with a brilliant blue colour, so wearing blues and surrounding yourself with this calming colour will really help. Eating blueberries, currants, blue grapes, blackberries, and dragon fruit will also help.

If you love your crystals as much as I do, Blue Lace Agate is perfect for the Throat Chakra, as is Sodalite, Lapis Lazuli, Aquamarine, and Turquoise. Wearing them as a necklace is the best way to bring them into effect on the body.

Spending some time mindfully looking up at the sky is also a great way to activate this chakra.

Namaste, folks! Thanks for reading…give me a like and a follow if you like what you read, there is more where this came from.

Love and light!

Chakra Sunday – Heart

Today is the turn of our central chakra, the Heart Chakra.

The Heart Chakra  connects our lower chakras, the ones that are predominantly associated with out physical body, with our higher charkas, which are predominantly associated with our spiritual and emotional bodies. In particular, the Heart Chakra deals with love, but not just that of others, it is also enormously connected to the love we have for ourselves. When it is in balance, we feel loved and in harmony with those around us. It helps us to forgive, and allows us to feel compassion. When it is stagnant, out of balance, or blocked, it can bring about feelings of jealousy, fear of abandonment, anger and lack of empathy and compassion. It is physically connected to our circulatory system and lungs, and ailments such as high blood pressure and asthma, among others.

The most effective way to heal the Heart Chakra is to express gratitude and to be compassionate towards yourself as well as others.

Sitting comfortable, take a few deep cleansing breaths and visualise a green flower bud where your heart is. With each breath, the green flower begins to open, and beautiful green light begins to emanate from within it and spreads throughout your entire body. Say out loud, or to yourself;

“I love myself. I have love in abundance. I accept myself and those around me fully, with compassion and grace. I am grateful for all that I have. I am grateful for all that I am. I release any fear of rejection.”

This chakra is associated with the colour green, and being surrounded by the greenery of nature is very healing for the heart. Eating green vegetables will help, as well as wearing green clothes, and carrying green crystals such as Malachite, Jade, Emerald, or Peridot.

Keep your Heart Chakra healthy and open, folks. It is the bridge between the physical and spiritual bodies and when in balance can help influence the activity of the higher chakras enormously.

Love and light, peeps.

Chakra Sunday! – Solar Plexus

Ok, ok, so it‚Äôs technically Monday, but I spent my Sunday evening preparing for a Crystal Therapy treatment and I don‚Äôt think ‚ÄėChakra Monday‚Äô is quite the same‚Ķand besides, when it‚Äôs this close to Christmas and the weather is cold and wet, we all need a little help from out Sunshine Chakra.

Moving up our Hara Line to the third chakra, the Solar Plexus is located just below the ribs and above the belly button. It is firmly associated with self-confidence, self-esteem, and personal power. When it is off balance it can create a fear of rejection, indecisiveness, passiveness, sluggishness, and a victim mentality that can lead to depression.

Sitting comfortably, ground yourself by taking a few deep, cleansing breaths and visualise that breath being drawn into your Solar Plexus. With each inhalation, imagine the breath becoming a bright yellow light that spreads outward from your body. Feel the warmth of the light like rays of the sun spreading throughout your body from the point of your Solar Plexus. Say out oud, or to yourself,

‚ÄúI love myself. I accept myself. I am worthy. I am confident. I stand in my own power and release judgements placed upon me, by myself and those around me.‚ÄĚ

The chakra really is the Sunshine Chakra and vibrates with the colour yellow and the energy of the sun. Eating yellow foods such as sweetcorn, pineapples, bananas, and turmeric will help keep this chakra in balance, as will wearing the colour yellow and carrying crystals like Citrine, Sunstone, Amber, or Tiger’s Eye.

Pay close attention to this one, folks…Of all the chakras, this one can cause the most trouble when it’s out of balance, even by being too open (which can lead to arrogance), but it can also bring you the most peace and happiness when it is balanced and taken care of.

Love and Light to you all

Chakra Sunday! – Sacral Chakra

Chakra Sunday! Tonight is the turn of the second Chakra, the Sacral Chakra and is located in the reproductive area of the body. The Sacral Chakra is associated with creativity, sexuality, and our emotions. When the Sacral Chakra is blocked we can feel guilt and shame, possessiveness, and jealousy. Physically, it can also contribute to fertility issues or low libido.

Sit comfortably and take a few deep breaths. Breath into your pelvic area and try to visualise a orange light emanating from below your naval. With each breath, make the light brighter, until it fills the lower part of your body. Say out loud, or to yourself,

“I feel. I create. I am enough. I am a beautiful, radiant, passionate soul. I attract and nurture only positive relationships.”

This Chakra resonates with the colour orange, so eating oranges, passionfruit, pumpkin, butternut squash, or anything of the bright, vibrant, orange variety will really help if you’re focusing on bringing your Sacral Chakra into balance.

Red Aventurine, Citrine and Red Carnelian are good crystals to have on your person.

So, there you have it ūüôā Enjoy this one, peeps, it’s one of the most commonly blocked of the chakras and, I think, can often reap the most rewards when it is in balance.
